Skills: Agent Extension
In previous sessions, you learned that an artificial intelligence model's context window is a finite and costly resource. If we attempt to pack all instructions, style guides, library documentation, and automation scripts into a single AGENTS.md or CLAUDE.md file, we cause Context Bloat, which spikes latency and triggers the Lost in the Middle phenomenon (attention degradation).
Model Context Protocol (MCP)
In the previous session, we explored how to extend an agent's reasoning via Skills (on-demand procedural memory). However, a language model on its own has no access to the real world: it cannot query your Supabase database, interact with remote GitHub repositories, or control a web browser to test a live screen.
StatefulWidget and Tree Rebuild
Up to this point in the course, all screens and components you built have been static and immutable using StatelessWidget. However, real-world applications must respond to user events: pressing buttons, typing into text fields, toggling switches, and loading dynamic data.
State Lifecycle and TextEditingController
In professional mobile development, stateful components are not eternal: they are born when a user enters a screen, react dynamically to events while the screen is active, and die when the user navigates away.
Workshop: Monolithic Contact Book
In this practical workshop, you will develop Part 1 (of 2) of the In-Memory Contact Book application.
